Anti-Rust Primer
Preparation
- All surfaces must be clean and dry.
- Remove loose rust, scale and paint with a wire brush then rub down with coarse abrasive paper to provide a firm surface.
- Abrade bare steel with coarse abrasive paper.
- Degrease all surfaces with Hammerite Brush Cleaner & Thinners and allow to dry.
Do not use or store in extremes of temperature.
Application
- Stir paint thoroughly.
- Apply by brush or roller. For best results when applying by roller, use a short pile mohair roller.
- Apply 2 coats of Hammerite Anti-Rust Primer, allowing a minimum of 6 hours between coats.
- A topcoat may be applied after a minimum of 6 hours. For best results, allow 24 hours.
- Hammerite Anti-Rust Primer can be overpainted with most paints.
Touch dry 2 hours, recoat after 6 hours.
Cleaning & Storage
After use, remove as much paint as possible from brushes before cleaning with Hammerite Brush Cleaner & Thinners.
