No.1 Rust Beater Aerosol
Preparation
- Remove loose rust, scale and paint.
- Abrade clean steel with emery paper to provide a key.
- Degrease where necessary with white spirit, rinse with clean water and allow time to dry.
Store in a dry well ventilated area and protect from frost and strong sunlight. Special precautions should be taken to avoid inhalation of dust during surface preparation of pre-1960's paint surfaces as they may contain harmful lead.
Application
- Shake the can vigorously using a vertical motion until the agitator ball is heard, then for a further 3 minutes.
- Spray a light covering coat.
- When touch dry (15 minutes) apply a further 2-3 coats, allowing 30 minutes between coats.
- Do not overspray or sagging might occur.
- A topcoat may be applied after a minimum of 4 hours. For best results allow 24 hours.
- Between coats invert can and spray for 2 seconds to avoid blockages.
